I couldn't get into the idea of the most "beautiful" words, but I sure have been fascinated with words for as long as I can remember. I always feel challenged when I'm reading and there's a word either I have no idea what it means or I don't recall ever seeing it.
ReplyDeleteWith this fascination comes a list of words I like to contemplate for their sound. Here is a short list of words (ones that I came up with quickly) that have an intriguing sound. The meanings aren't necessarily anything special, I just like the sound of the word:
onomatopoeia
alliterative
bailiwick
hyacinth
alluvial
esoteric
confluence
draconian
zenith
acquiesce
scintillate
Here's what pops into my head quicly. I'm ditto for all the words afore mentioned.
ReplyDeletebenign
convivial
antithesis
corporeal
cache
verdant
qualm
Quixotic
Ok, I could go on and on....
